Groat (Silver, 22 mm, 3.76 g, 2 h), Annulet issue, Calais, circa 1422-1430. ✠ hEnRIC✱DI✱GRA✱REX✱AnGL’✱Z✱FRAnC Crowned head of Henry VI facing, two annulets below locks. Rev. ✠ POSVI◦ - DEVm:A - D IVTOR - E mEVm / VIL - LA - CALI - SIE: Long cross pattée with three small pellets in each angle and two annulets within two pellet groupings. North 1427. SCBC 1836. Beautifully toned. Minor areas of weakness and tiny die breaks on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
